QUEENS CORNER

Katelin Fullen

Hometown: Union, WV

Hey y’all! My name is Katelin Fullen, and I am proud to represent as your Miss West Virginia High School Rodeo Queen. I am 17 years old and a senior at James Monroe High School in Lindside, West Virginia. I have been involved with High School Rodeo since I was a Pee Wee member back in 2011, and throughout the years, rodeo has become a huge part of who I am. My events include Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Goat Tying. Outside of rodeo, I stay very active in my community of Union, West Virginia. I volunteer through my church, school, and 4-H club, and I also show sheep through 4-H.

I am proud to be a member of my FFA chapter, where I continue to grow my leadership skills and agricultural knowledge. On top of that, I work as a lifeguard at Moncove Lake State Park during the summer. After high school, I plan to attend college to pursue a degree in Animal Science, with the goal of furthering my studies to become a large animal veterinarian. My passion for agriculture, livestock, and the western lifestyle is what drives me to keep working hard toward my future career. I am extremely thankful for my family, friends, and community who have supported me through all my endeavors and encouraged me to follow my dreams.

As Queen this year, I hope to inspire the younger generation to chase after their goals with drive and determination, because the reward is always greater when you’ve worked hard to achieve it. I also want to help bring more recognition and support to the West Virginia High School Rodeo Association by being involved in interviews, public events, and community outreach. My hope is to help our organization grow, gain sponsorships, and provide even more opportunities for the amazing youth who make up this rodeo family.
