QUEENS CORNER

Zoe Crook

Hometown: Shady Springs, WV

Hey y’all! I am Zoe Crook, and I am your Miss West Virginia High School Rodeo Queen. I am 17 years old and a senior at Shady Spring High School. I have been part of NHSRA for 4 years and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. My events consist of Barrel racing, Pole bending, Goat tying, and Queen contest. My parents are Christopher and Cynthia Crook, and I’m so thankful for all their support during my journey of rodeoing.

Outside of rodeo, I am the secretary of Shady Spring FFA Chapter. FFA is one of my favorite things, other than rodeo. In FFA I compete in Vet Science, Livestock Judging, and Agricultural Issues. I also raise pigs for our Ham, Bacon, Egg show, where I have won multiple Grand and Reserve Champion titles. I also am on my school’s archery team, where I have not only competed on a state level but nationally.

After High School I plan to go to nursing school to get my BSN, then go to Midwifery school to become a nurse midwife, all while hopefully being able to continue to rodeo.

Overall, I am beyond thankful for all the people who have helped me achieve my goals. My family has been there for me through all the hard times. I want to give a special thanks to my little sister Maddie, who competes in junior high division, she continues to keep me on my toes and is my biggest cheerleader. Not only I am thankful for the people but for my old, paint Toby. He gives me his all with each run we make; he truly is the best horse I’ve ever had.

As Queen this year, I hope to inspire so many kids to chase their dreams just how one rodeo queen inspired me to chase mine. I also hope that we can grow WVHSRA even more than we already have. This year is going to be a blast!
